We did not breed any of our alpacas last year. In an effort to focus more on the fiber/yarn end of things we decided that less, not more alpacas would give us more time. Our boys were crafty, however. A field of open females next door meant many an hour spent figuring out how to breech security. They succeeded a couple of times, led by Sugar Ray our resident Houdini.
Yesterday in the pouring rain this lovely little female cria arrived. She has settled in nicely and has a very attentive Mom, Dominica. Now instead of working with my dye pots I find myself constantly wandering away to check in on this sweet little lady. Now to think of a name……………………………..
